A highly topical place to visit given the media attention over Fletcher Building’s plans to build on land next to the Otuataua Stonefields reserve. Only 20 minutes drive from where I live I really should have visited this place sooner, it’s a lovely and historic spot on the Manukau Harbour. It’s one of the few places where large-scale stonework and earthwork remains show how people once lived and worked.
