New Zealand is filled with all sorts of natural wonders, from active volcanos to epic glaciers, so why not sizeable circular rocks on a beach? I’ve visited the Moeraki boulders twice now, but even five years apart, both times in the middle of summer, the weather hasn’t been particularly kind. You’ll get the idea though from these photos, carefully taken to avoid the many people posing on them!dsc_0257 dsc_0256 dsc_0254 dsc_0258 dsc_0240 dsc_0241 dsc_0242 dsc_0249 dsc_0246 dsc_0245

  1. Must be surprising to find them in the middle of the beach!

    1. I knew they were there 😉

  2. Wow did they wash up here or were they like eroded remains of bigger rocks?

      1. Wow. Mudstone over a period of millions of years! Hmm…just like the Basalt columns in the Giants’ causeway in northern Ireland!
