One of the wonders of the world, a beautiful collection of buildings built centuries apart. From the original fortifications, to the best known Moorish palaces, to Charles V’s Renaissance palace, along with some stunning gardens. It is deservedly popular so book ahead online, but it is an absolute must do if you’re in this part of the world, and to be honest worth the trip to visit this part of the world to see. It’s very easy to fill an entire day exploring the enormous complex of buildings and gardens.

If one looks at the Alhambra, one is reminded that the Moorish era of Spanish history is not necessarily a dark age. It was actually quite a gilded age with the flourish of arts and science!
