Continuing my series of street art in unexpected places (see also Tbilisi, Iran, Hobart, Adelaide, New Plymouth, Alice Springs) with an exploration of Iceland’s capital. Around the city centre were plenty of interesting examples.
The most impressive were those covering the entire side of buildings.
This was one of the more colourful car parks I’ve come across.
Loose definition of street art but there were a couple of trolls, and one of the most entertaining sculptures I’ve come across.
Reykjavik airport also had some rather funky comic book inspired artwork, and some lovely stained glass in the ceiling, something you’re unlikely to see at Gatwick Airport.
Iceland’s second city (though not it’s second largest) Akureyri also had a bit of street art, and a couple more trolls.
