The perfect place to spend the morning before catching a flight from Heathrow (as it’s only 15 minutes away), The Savill Garden is 35 acres of interconnected gardens dating back to the 1930s. Sitting within Windsor Great Park in West London, it certainly makes a good first impression with the striking visitor centre that opened in 2006, with it’s epic roof containing a popular cafe and ticketing for the gardens. The rose gardens were opened by the Queen in 2010 and are the first I’ve been to that feature a ramp to nowhere! Quite striking and good for views of the garden. There was some impressively colourful (even on a typical July day, mostly cloudy with spots of rain!) bedding. The greenhouse was a little underwhelming, but I did like this giant plughole water feature. The Hidden Gardens also had a rather nice water feature. Saved my favourite for last, these lovely wild flowers.
