An out and back 9km hike with around 450m of ascent into the Tasi Tolu hills. Very peaceful and quiet up on the ridgeline and relatively straightforward navigation. Big views of Tasi Tolu below, and some shade on the way up if you start early.
I started from Gruta de Nossa Senhora Maria Auxilliadora / Cave of Our Lady of Mount Golgotha, which is a silent shrine popular with worshippers, behind which is a track up the hillside. It didn’t take look to start getting good views of the Tasi Tolu lakes and city below.

I was still getting used to how green and lush the landscape was in the wet season, such a contrast from the dry season.

The path got quite narrow but offered great views.

My telephoto lens provided a different perspective on the landscape.

Up on the ridgeline the paths are wide and easy.

There aren’t that many views but occasionally there would be gaps with big views.

I headed up to around 390m above sea level, which is about as high as the ridgeline gets, so made for a suitable spot to turn around and return the way I came. A couple of photos from the walk back.
