Connell’s Bay Sculpture Park

Tucked away on the south west coast of Waiheke Island, a 40 minute ferry ride from downtown Auckland, lies probably the most quietly impressive sculpture park in New Zealand. There’s some competition, with Gibb’s Farm including epic works by international artists such as Anish Kapoor, but Connell’s Bay is hard to beat.

John and Jo Gow have used the money they made investing in West End musicals, including Cats and Phantom of the Opera, to commission New Zealand artists to develop works for specific areas on the site, resulting in works befitting the beautiful location.
