One of the best holidays I’ve had, a week a few year’s ago diving in Fiji with an amazing group of people, organised through Global Dive. I had a camera to do justice to the beautiful Volivoli resort (more to follow on that) but less so the sights underwater unfortunately. The water was markedly warmer than in New Zealand, with many of the reefs close to the surface (6m down) allowing long and comfortable dives.
The last photo was taken from the surface before a night dive to a new site to us called “The Maze”, ideal for exploring the pitch black! Lost my dive buddy at one point, quite a surreal / scary experience floating in the darkness, very easy to lose track of depth, but the colours and underwater life lit at night by a torch are spectacular.
It’s an annual trip they run every June. I’d love to repeat but the bar was set very high first time round…
