Seen by but probably never visited by every person who visits Waiheke Island, Motuihe Island is another gem in the Hauraki Gulf. Home to the lovely sheltered Takutairaroa Bay, a campsite, some old buildings, and number of graves, a legacy of it’s time as a quarantine for ship carrying diseases. It now makes for a good day trip by seasonal ferry from the city or a popular spot for boaties.
