Ali Ibn Hamzeh Holy Shrine (Mirror Mosque), Shiraz

I had a rare jaw dropping moment entering this mosque in northern Shiraz. It wasn’t mentioned in any of the guidebooks or online, a rarity these days when travelling, but was an absolute gem. From the outside it was beautiful but consistent with other mosques I’d seen.
Inside though was a real eye opener, these photos don’t do it justice, with almost every surface covered in mirrors, with reflected light cascading everywhere.

The interior of the Mausoleum of Shah Cheragh is similar in style but not open to tourists.
