Design Museum, London

Last year the Design Museum moved from it’s former location in an old banana warehouse on the Thames, to the beautifully converted former home of the Commonwealth Institute at the entrance to Holland Park.
The outside and neighbouring buildings are pleasant, if nothing spectacular.
The interior though is quite breathtaking.
Particularly the roof, a marvel of modern engineering when it was built in 1962 (though it leaked for years). It’s for good reason that it is regarded by English Heritage as the second most important (after the Royal Festival Hall) modern building in London.
As you’d expect from a Design Museum, the fit out is pretty slick and well designed.
I didn’t have time to see the two paid exhibitions on, but did take a quick look at the couple of free exhibitions on Designer Maker User and Cartier in Motion.
