Yet another amazing gorge in Karijini National Park, they’re all spectacular but in quite different ways. Hamersley Gorge was particularly impressive for the folding patterns of the rocks.

It was also one of the more colourful gorges, with white and yellow complementing the usual redness.

Heading down the steps the upper pools (off limits after too many accidents, though clearly not for a couple of German guys) looked pretty wonderful, even with limited water in them.

At the base the unusual rock formations were even clearer.

I swam along the gorge, maybe 300m before reaching the end. Glad I took my camera (in two dry bags to be safe) for a few more photo opportunities.
