Batemans Bay

The closest beach to Canberra (two hours drive away), Batemans Bay is a pretty standard NSW coastal town, a pleasant place to stay on our way to the capital.

It was particularly pleasant first thing, seeing the sunrise from each beach between Corrigans Beach and Denhams Beach on my morning run, though the way back as the humidity and temperatures rose was hot work.

The night before I went for a short evening run along Corrigans Beach.

Cullendulla Creek Nature Reserve was well worth an hour to wander the 3km of bush, coastal and boardwalk track, spotting some of the local wildlife, and enjoying the mangroves.
