Final day of a four day hike with Eco Discovery through the remote landscape of Manufahi and Manatuto between Turiskai and Laclubar. This was a short but scenic hike down into Laclubar for a look around before the 3 hour drive back to Dili.
It was an atmospheric start to the day in Manelima with low cloud, including this amazing effect seen from the drone of a circular rainbow.
We headed downhill, past Uma Lulik (traditional Timorese sacred houses) and through coffee plantations.
In the distance, surrounded by a surprisingly lush landscape for the end of the dry season was the town of Laclubar.
There were a few sights of interest in Laclubar, including the busy Sunday market, the attractive Laclubar Church, monuments, and ruins.
‘A short way out of town was Gruta Vila Maria Rulalan-Laclubar, a shrine to the Virgin Mary set on a small hike.
The views from here were incredible.
