A scenic short walk near Queenstown, Jack’s Point Track offers wonderful views of The Remarkables and Lake Wakatipu. It starts from the southern end of Jack’s Point, an ever expanding suburb about 20 minutes drive east of Queenstown. I walked the track on a beautiful blue sky day in mid-June, with recent snowfall on The Remarkables.

The track heads steadily uphill to reach views of Lake Wakatipu.

There are spectacular panoramic views.

Lake Wakatipu was looking rather attractive.

The track continues along by the lake but I looped back following the road with more great views.

Nearby is an airstrip from which small planes took off from carrying sky divers.
