Auckland Botanic Gardens

One of the lesser known gems of Auckland, possibly due to it’s proximity to Manukau, but only twenty mins from the CBD are some beautiful free gardens well worth visiting.img_1921 img_1991 img_1994 img_1936 img_1981 img_1925 img_1904 img_1998 img_0085 img_1997 img_1894 img_1890

The visitor centre is pretty smart, but unfortunately the cafe is very average.dsc03467dsc03489 dsc03490

Every two years the gardens host Sculpture in the Gardens. Here are a taster of 2013/14 and 2015/16, follow the links for more.IMG_1872 IMG_1939 IMG_2011DSC03346DSC03356

The gardens are next to Totara Park which is also worth an explore, particularly along the Puhinui Stream Forest Trail.dsc03511 dsc03501
